In the auto dealership environment, there is a common tendency to promote the best Parts Advisor to the role of Parts Manager. This approach presents several challenges. Firstly, Parts staff often lean towards introversion and may not be comfortable interacting with a wide range of people. Secondly, excelling as a Parts Advisor does not automatically equate to possessing strong leadership skills. Thirdly, Parts Advisors typically have limited experience with inventory control processes. Lastly,  Parts staff may not fully understand how to leverage essential resources such as Sales staff and Service Advisors to help drive Parts sales.

What We
Offer

01

Increasing Gross Profit

With improved sales and more efficient inventory management, the department is positioned to enhance gross profit margins. This is achieved through better turnover rates and reduced holding costs.

03

Reducing Inventory

By streamlining inventory levels, the Parts Department can minimize excess stock. This reduction helps to avoid overstocking, which in turn ensures that capital is not tied up unnecessarily in inventory that may not move quickly.

05

Increasing Sales

Optimizing inventory and capital usage allows the department to focus on high-demand items and improve sales performance. A more targeted and responsive approach to customer needs facilitates higher sales volumes.

02

Increasing Shop Productivity

As inventory becomes more manageable and capital is used efficiently, shop productivity rises. Staff spend less time searching for parts and more time on value-added tasks, leading to a more productive work environment

04

Reducing Frozen Capital

Lowering inventory directly contributes to a decrease in frozen capital. With less money invested in unsold parts, the department maintains greater cash flow flexibility and can allocate resources more effectively.

06

Assessment

Connect with the Parts Manager to understand their system and objectives by interviewing and observing staff in the Parts department. Conversations will include Parts Advisors, selected Service staff, and Managers, to gather a range of internal perspectives. A report summarizing findings, recommendations, and goals, with follow-up support available for implementation.

About Me.

Jason commenced his professional journey at a prestigious German automotive dealership, where he advanced from a counter staff position to the role of Parts Manager. As an award-winning Parts Manager, he was regularly consulted by the manufacturer for insights regarding operational strategies and policy development. Under his stewardship, the parts department received distinction for achieving the highest accessory sales volume relative to vehicles sold. Following several successful years in this capacity, Jason was appointed Fixed Operations Director at the same dealership. In addition, he served as Parts Manager at a non-luxury German automotive dealership in a smaller community, where he demonstrated adaptability by effectively navigating diverse purchasing behaviours.
